How do I make a claim for mis-sold PPI?

  1. Find documents evidencing PPI
  2. Complete 12 page questionnaire found on most bank websites and send to seller explaining why you think you were mis-sold PPI or use a regulated low PPI fee Claims Management Company
  3. If no response or decision within eight weeks, chase and if necessary then send Complaint Form to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

What is PPI?

Payment Protection Insurance which is sold alongside Loans, credit cards and mortgages to protect people if they cannot work due to sickness or unemployment.

Why can I claim PPI?

The Financial Services Authority has found that PPI has frequently mis-sold. If it was mis-sold to you then you can make a claim for a payment protection refund to get back the proportion of your monthly loan or credit-card payments that represented the PPI payments, plus interest.

How much PPI can I claim?

You can claim back all the PPI premiums paid plus interest.

Will you need my statements?

No, as we will write to the financial institution under the Data Protection Act asking them for the information that we require to take the payment protections refunds claim forward. If, however, you have the statements then it would speed matters up if you let us have them to calculate the payment protection refund claim. We will need a copy of the Loan Agreement, if available.

How long will the PPI claim take?

Each PPI reclaim varies dependent on the financial institution involved. The typical PPI claims take around three months to complete but it can take as little as three weeks. If it is necessary to refer the PPI claim to the Financial Ombudsman Service then it can currently take up to a further 24 months.

How much does your PPI service cost?

We take a payment when settlement from the PPI claim has been received. The fee that will be taken is 10% of the refund obtained with no VAT payable.

What happens next?

Once we receive your written authorisation to the financial institution to act for you we will start the ppi claim and keep you updated by way of email so that you can reclaim PPI as quickly as possible.

What if the financial institution won't give me my money back?

Then we will take the PPI Claim to the Office of the Financial Ombudsman.

Is there a limit to the amount that I can claim?

No. There is no limit to the amount of a payment protection refund.

Will the financial institution ring or contact me?

They shouldn't do, as you will have given us authority to act on your behalf. If they do send you any letters then you should forward them to us so we can take the PPI Claim forward.
